Education is so underrated…except when you pay an arm and a leg for a degree and companies won't hire you because you lack "experience"

I like to keep my English skills as sharp as possible so I get these "word of the day" emails every morning as well as check dictionary.com on a regular basis. Here’s my latest word site to keep my brain growing.

I have to consult that dictionary (or American kids) a lot because I am a total slang retard. Words/phrases I didn't learn until I moved here include "that's sick", "give him props", "unload" as in i have to unload this Civic. I miss Canadians (at least those my own age) who can speak words I actually understand.

Sadly enough I'm 28 yrs old and I've been saying things like "that's sick" for quite some time now...hehe...I guess it just depends on where you live and not so much your age. It's funny to create your own slang too :) I think my buddy came up with "kunk" the other day to describe Korean punks...hahaha.

"Those damn kunks!"

Ok so I noticed this too. My friends from TO are much more familiar with slang than those from Vancouver. There must be some east coast influence. I learned that busted meant ugly from a Torontonian

regional slang is funny...when i lived in winnipeg i had no effing clue what a "toque" was, coz i called it a "toboggan" - yes, like the sled.
